Windows 11 is finally here. Microsoft has officially announced the arrival of Windows 11 on 24th June 2021. It looks like a complete revamp of Windows. The user interface is much more simplified, and some major updates are waiting for all windows users.

Windows has introduced a new start menu, search, new snap control, widgets, etc. Additionally, there are numerous cool features that no one predicted.

Let’s discuss the 10 new features of Windows 11 that you need to know about:

Android Apps Support

This is huge! You will be able to access and run Android Apps in Windows 11. Android Apps will be available in the Microsoft store. This brings in a new realm of opportunities for Android App developers.

Microsoft is partnering with Amazon. This will possibly bring the Amazon App into the Microsoft Store. Microsoft has clearly announced its goal to be able to run all Android apps in future.

Microsoft will be using intel bridge tech to make sure the android apps work smoothly. This means that you will now be able to run your regular android apps as it is on your PC. That’s something to be excited about!

The Visual Revamp

Windows 11 is going to be different from Windows 10, visually. There hasn’t been much change in the design part of Windows over the years. The new version of the operating system has a whole new look and feel.

No sharp edges! Everyone is talking about the new rounded corners in Windows 11. The operating system has a new and pretty modern look to it.

You will find a brand new Start Menu in the latest version of Windows. The Start Menu is centred. The taskbar is also central, like the previous version, Windows 10X. There is a new and user-friendly action centre as well as a new notification centre.

All major applications, like Settings, File Explorer, and the Control Panel can be seen in a completely new look which is more advanced and stylish than the previous versions.

The New UI

Many have struggled with touch responsiveness with Windows 10. This is something that will be better and improved in the latest version of the operating system.

It is expected that Windows 11 will support many more swipe gestures, and the whole touch responsiveness will be better for Windows users.

New Microsoft Store

Adobe Creative Cloud, Disney, TikTok, and the most important in today’s time, Zoom will all be available for your PC in the new Microsoft Store, as announced by Microsoft. The new store is less cluttered than the present one and has a modern look to it as well. The new store is proposed to be more responsive with enhanced user-friendliness.

The store is said to be supportive of all types of apps, including the modern Universal Apps, Web Apps, and Win32 Apps as well.

Now developers may choose their own payments platform and still have their applications on Microsoft Store, giving them better profits. This means it will allow the developers to save themselves from giving any fees to Microsoft for using the Microsoft Store as a platform.

New Snap layout

Through Windows 11, users will be able to choose from different snap layouts. These layouts will make multitasking easier. The layouts can be chosen based on different screen sizes and resolutions. The great thing is that Windows will remember your layout while you use different apps.

Also, when connected to a different screen, windows will now remember these layouts, which means that it will open the same layout that you were using, on that monitor or screen.

Personalised Desktops

Desktops in Windows 11 can be customised based on users personal needs. They can be personalised with different apps and wallpapers to give a unique look. Desktops can be personalised for school, home, work, gaming, etc.

You will also be able to set up wallpapers on each of your virtual desktops if you are a virtual desktop user.

Gaming Improvements

There are several noteworthy improvements in gaming on Windows 11. Gamers will now be able to use Auto HDR in the new version. This will automatically update the games.

Users with DirectStorage Optimized systems will be able to use the feature called DirectStorage, allowing gamers to experience fast loading speeds and enhanced performance. Windows 11 also comes with built-in Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Microsoft Teams Integration

Microsoft Teams is not integrated within Windows 11. Teams can be operated directly from the taskbar, which pretty smoothly opens the chat list when clicked. Users will be allowed to make and receive audio and video calls and messages. Should we officially bid adieu to Skype now?

Let’s see if people switch to Teams more because of this integration coming in Windows 11.

Widgets

Widgets are customized feeds that are personalized as per your interest by the AI. Windows 11 will now have a widget panel. Widgets can be slid in from the left of your screen. This section will comprise the user’s interests and news. Some built-in widgets for Windows 11 are maps, weather and news feed.

With third-party developers joining the Windows development community, we can expect the addition of several new widgets for the platform. We can hope for updates on numerous widgets which will improve the user experience and deliver better functionality.

x64 Emulation on ARM Processors

With Windows 11, devices with ARM processors will get support for 64-bit app emulation. Earlier, on Windows 10, devices had support for only 32-bit emulation which resulted in a significant lack of apps for all such devices.

With 64-bit ARM app-emulation, Windows 11 is going to get a new and much more awaited set of applications for itself, which was lacking in the Windows 10 version of the operating system.

So these are the major updates about the latest version of the operating system. Windows 11 will be compatible with devices with at least 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0 is also a requirement and can be a roadblock for several interested users.

However, Microsoft has clearly not disappointed its users by coming out with a completely revamped UX/UI with several interesting features in the latest version of the Windows operating system, i.e. Windows 11. It will be available as a free update for Windows 10 users this holiday season!
